Resposta de anticorpos ao Herpesvírus Equino-1 em éguas com histórico de aborto nos municípios de Meta, Colômbia

O herpesvírus equino tipo 1 (EHV-1) é um vírus disseminado, responsável por perdas econômicas significativas na indústria equina. Na Colômbia, o conhecimento sobre esse vírus é limitado, tornando necessário compreender detalhadamente seu comportamento epidemiológico. O objetivo deste estudo foi relacionar a resposta sorológica ao EHV-1 com o aborto em éguas de seis municípios do departamento de Meta. Foi utilizado um delineamento caso-controle com 76 éguas (N=37 casos e N=39 controles). O teste diagnóstico foi um kit ELISA indireto comercial. A análise de frequência foi realizada utilizando o teste qui-quadrado de independência, e os fatores associados foram analisados utilizando razões de chances (OR). O aborto não foi associado à resposta sorológica (OR=0,70). No entanto, 58,3% das éguas comsobrepeso apresentaram aborto, o que foi umfator associado. Em éguas utilizadas para esporte,a taxa de aborto foi maior (53,8%) do quenaquelas utilizadas para trabalho no campo(11,5%) (p < 0,05). A soropositividade geral foide 48,7%, com as seguintes taxas por município:Restrepo 62,5% (5/8), Puerto López 62,5%(5/8), Acacias 55,6% (5/9), Cumaral 54,5% (12/22),Villavicencio 45,5% (5/11) e Barranca de Upía27,8% (5/18). O aborto não foi associado à presença de anticorpos contra o EHV-1, sugerindooutras causas que podem explicar essequadro clínico. O vírus está disseminado nosmunicípios de Meta, sugerindouma presençaendêmica e a necessidade de estratégias deprevenção e controle.
